FOR GIRLS

High School Leaders

HIGH SCHOOL LEADERS

As a High School Leader ("BB Leader"), you are paired with another girl who is similar in age and together you will co-lead a team of 4 to 6 middle school girls for 8 weeks.

Girls come from all over the U.S.

The middle school participants are 3 to 4 grades below yours. So if you're in 10th grade, they will be 6th and 7th graders.

You get to know several other High School Leaders because you meet with them weekly along with one BB Woman Mentor to prep for leading your teams.

Time commitment is 2 hours a week for 10 weeks (includes a BB Leader only orientation and a final other event).

You receive 20 hours of community service and leadership hours.

* Past BB Leaders are happy to fill in for BB Leaders that need to miss a week.

MIDDLE SCHOOL PARTICIPANTS

As a middle school participant (aka "BB Teamer"), you join a team with 4 to 6 other girls similar in age to you, along with two High School Leaders that are 3 to 4 grades above you.

Girls come from all over the U.S.

Your team has a BB Woman Mentor that works with your High School Leaders but you are able to reach out to them with ideas, concerns and questions.

Time commitment is 10 hours.

You will receive 10 hours of community service and leadership hours.

Why these leadership hours? Here's why:

  •  By participating in your weekly team meetings, you are contributing to the group's experience and this is leadership in action.

  • By sharing your ideas about BOOSTING BRAVERY along the way, you are helping lead the program forward.

The hope is that you will enjoy your BB experience so much that you will want to be a high school leader in the future!
